I once told a friend that I was organizing a meet-up for introverts. She laughed and asked me if anyone would show up. Though it seemed funny at the time I realized in hindsight that introverts aren’t necessarily anti-social, nor are they shy. Despite what many people believe.
I wrote The Dynamic Introvert as a way of expressing myself and sharing my ideas with others. I’m also interested in contributing to the worldwide community of introverts, people like yourself who are quietly making the world a better place for all of us.
The contributions of introverts are often overlooked because we don’t like being the center of attention. The Dynamic Introvert is about recognizing our unique attributes and sharing them with the world.
Though-out my career I’ve been a social worker, educator, organizational development consultant and coach and for over 35 years I’ve provided quiet leadership to health care organizations and community groups.
Along the way I also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Adult Education from the University of British Columbia. As a member of Toastmasters International I obtained my Distinguished Toastmasters award. This DTM is the highest level of educational achievement within Toastmasters, recognizing members who have completed extensive speech projects, served in leadership roles, and demonstrated significant contributions to the organization and their communities.
I am also certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Step I and Step II.
I love writing and teaching—activities that allow me to express my creativity. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, practicing yoga, cooking and being outdoors.
